Customer onboarding software

Open a new customer account without the paper application form.

Put one link on your website. A new customer applies, then fills in their business details and trade references, signs your terms of trade and uploads their certificates from their own private link. You approve what comes in.

30-day free trial. No credit card.

Sound familiar?

The application form is a PDF from 2014

Customers print it, fill it in by hand, scan it and email it back. Somebody then types the business number, the addresses and the references into your system.

An account opened on half an application

The first order went out because the customer was in a hurry. The signed terms of trade never came back, and nobody remembered until there was a dispute.

A certificate that expired a year ago

The resale certificate, tax exemption or insurance on file lapsed and nothing flagged it. You find out when somebody asks to see it.

How customer onboarding works in WorkZerk

  1. Step 1

    Build the account application once

Add the questions, the uploads and your terms of trade, in the order you want them completed. Mark what is required so an application cannot be submitted half finished.

  2. Step 2

Publish one link, or invite them

Put the self-registration link behind an "Apply for an account" button on your website. The customer enters their name and email and is emailed a private link to the application. Or add them yourself and send the invite.

  3. Step 3

    Review, approve, keep watching

Approve each document or reject it with a reason. Reminders go to anyone who stopped halfway, and a certificate with an expiry date is flagged before it lapses.

What you can collect from a new customer

  • Business name, trading name and business number
  • Delivery and billing addresses
  • Accounts payable contact
  • Trade references
  • Signed terms of trade
  • Tax exemption or resale certificate, with expiry date
  • Driver license and photo ID for equipment hire
  • Certificate of insurance, with expiry date
  • Setup details for a new service: users, sites, preferences

Customers apply from your website

One self-registration link takes every application without an invite from you. Each customer gets their own private link, and a welcome email or an internal notice can go out the moment they register.

Terms of trade accepted by version

Keep your terms in the terms library. Each acceptance records the exact version, the date and time, and a typed name or drawn signature. Update the terms and earlier acceptances still show the version that customer saw.

Expiry dates keep watching

Require an expiry date on a resale certificate or insurance and WorkZerk marks it current, expiring soon or expired. Turn on the reminders and the customer is asked for a new one 30 days before it lapses.

One screen for who is complete

The document compliance report lists your customers down the side and your document types across the top, with a compliant or not compliant verdict for each. Only documents you approved count.

Tell the right person

An automation can email an address you type, such as your accounts inbox, when a customer finishes their application, and set their status so anyone can see where the account stands.

Details saved to the record

Link a question to a contact field and the business number or delivery address is saved to the customer record. Export the lot to CSV.

Questions

Can customers apply without us inviting them?

Yes. Generate a self-registration link and put it on your website, an email signature or a QR code on the trade counter (make the QR code from the link with any QR tool). The customer enters their name and email and is emailed their own private link to the application.

Does WorkZerk run credit checks or check trade references?

No. WorkZerk collects the application, the references and the documents, and puts them in front of you. It does not run credit checks, contact referees, check a business number or set a credit limit, and it is not a billing or accounting system. Someone in your team reviews what came in and approves or rejects it.

What is recorded when a customer accepts our terms of trade?

The exact version they were shown, the date and time, their IP address and browser, and a typed name and drawn signature where you asked for them. If your terms are a PDF, they can sign the PDF instead and you both get a signed copy.

What happens when a certificate expires?

Any upload can require an expiry date. WorkZerk shows each one as current, expiring soon or expired, lists expiring documents across every customer, and can email the customer for a fresh copy before and after the date once you turn those reminders on.

Does a customer need to create an account with WorkZerk?

No. Each customer gets a private link to their own portal. There is no password and nothing to install, it works on a phone, and a part-finished application is saved so they can come back to it.

How much does it cost?

One plan at $9.95 a month with every feature. 25 people can be onboarding at once, with no limit on how many you put through in a year. Above 25 at once, each extra person is 5 cents a day while their link is open. Colleagues who work in the account are $4 a month each. Try it free for 30 days, no credit card.
