Visitors inducted on their own phone, and a list of who is on site.
Put a QR code at the gate. A visitor registers, reads and accepts your site rules, answers your questions and uploads anything you need, all on their own phone. Then they tap Check in when they arrive and Check out when they leave.
30-day free trial. No credit card.
Sound familiar?
The sign-in book says nothing
A name, a time in and an unreadable signature. Nobody can tell whether the auditor read the site rules, and half the visitors never sign out.
The induction is a laminated sheet
The delivery driver is pointed at a sheet on the wall and waved through. There is no record that they saw it, or which version was on the wall that day.
The alarm goes and nobody knows who is in
Staff are on the roll. The sales rep, the inspector and the two parents are on a clipboard in an office that has just been cleared.
How a visitor induction works in WorkZerk
- Step 1
Build the induction once
Add your site rules as terms to accept, a few questions (who are you here to see, your vehicle registration), an upload if you need one, and a checklist for anything they have to do, such as watch the safety video.
- Step 2
Put the link on a QR code at the gate
Turn on the self-registration link and make a QR code from it with any QR tool. A visitor scans it, types their first name, surname and email, and is emailed a private link to their own page straight away.
- Step 3
They check in and out, you see the roster
Turn on check-in and their page gets a Check in button, then a Check out button. You get a live count and a named list of who is on site right now.
What you can collect from a visitor
- Site rules read and accepted, by version
- A typed name or drawn signature on the acceptance
- Who they are visiting and why
- Company name and mobile number
- Vehicle registration
- Safety questions with yes or no answers
- Photo ID or a license, as an upload
- An insurance certificate, with its expiry date
- A safety video or site walk, ticked off as a checklist
A live on-site roster
The portal shows an On site now count that updates on its own. View roster lists who is on site, most recent arrival first, and who has not checked in or has already left.
Acceptance pinned to a version
Your site rules are a versioned terms document. Each acceptance records the exact version shown, the date and time, and a typed name or drawn signature if you ask for one.
Check-in works in a dead spot
A tap made with no signal is held on the phone and sent when the connection comes back. It is timestamped when it reaches WorkZerk, so treat that arrival time as approximate.
Check someone in yourself
Change anybody on the roster to on site or off site from your side, for the visitor whose phone is in the van. The log records whether they did it or you did.
Different visitors, different questions
Ask what kind of visitor they are, then show a section only to that answer. A delivery driver gets the loading dock rules and an auditor never sees them.
Regular visitors do it once
A visitor keeps the same private link, with what they already accepted still on it. If they lose it, registering again with the same email sends the same link back.
$9.95 a month, every feature included.

What does a visitor actually do at the gate?
They scan the QR code and type their first name, surname and email address. WorkZerk emails them a private link, which they open on their phone to read and accept the site rules, answer your questions and tap Check in. There is no app to install and no password. They do need an email address they can open on their phone, because the link is sent there and is not shown on the registration page.
Does it replace a visitor management kiosk?
No. WorkZerk is not a front-desk kiosk: it does not print badges or passes, does not tell a host their visitor has arrived, and does not open doors or gates. It collects the induction and the acceptance on the visitor's own phone and gives you a roster of who has checked in. It also does not make the QR code itself: you make one from the link with any QR tool.
What if a visitor forgets to check out?
They stay on the on-site list until somebody changes it. Nothing checks people out automatically, so an arrival from an earlier day shows on the roster with its date as well as its time. You can check anyone out yourself from the roster, and the log records that you did it.
Does WorkZerk check the documents a visitor uploads?
No. It collects them and checks each file for viruses. A person on your side approves an upload or rejects it with a reason, and a rejection emails the visitor to ask for a better copy.
We get a lot of visitors. How does the 25 people limit work?
The plan includes 25 active people at a time. A visitor is active while they hold a live link on a portal you have not closed, so every visitor who registers counts until you revoke their link or close the portal. Going over 25 never blocks anyone: each extra active person costs 5 cents a day, about $1.50 a month, paid from credit you add to the account. For example, 60 active visitors all month is $52.50 on top of the $9.95. The count is taken once a night, so a visitor you revoke the same day is never counted. Revoking takes them off the roster, and they cannot register themselves again until you give them a new link, so keep your regulars and revoke the one-off visits.
How much does it cost?
One plan at $9.95 a month with every feature, including check-in and the roster. 25 people can be active at once, with no limit on how many go through in a year. Colleagues who work in the account are $4 a month each. Try it free for 30 days, no credit card.
