Staff onboarding software, New Zealand

IR330, KiwiSaver and bank details back before the first payday.

Send each new employee one link. They upload their IR330, enter their IRD number and bank account, prove their right to work and sign your employment agreement on their phone. WorkZerk reminds them about whatever is still missing.

Sound familiar?

The IR330 comes back as a phone photo

It sits in an inbox with an IRD number on it, where anyone with access to the mailbox can read it.

Payroll is waiting on a bank account number

The new employee sent 14 digits instead of 16, and the first payday is on Thursday.

The work visa has an end date nobody wrote down

The visa was checked on day one and filed. Nobody will look at it again until it matters.

How staff onboarding works for a New Zealand business

  1. Step 1

Start from the New Zealand staff pack

It asks for the IR330, the IRD number, the KS2 for existing KiwiSaver members, bank account details, proof of the right to work, a work visa with its end date, and an emergency contact. Add your employment agreement for signing and your induction as a checklist.

  2. Step 2

Add the new employee, and the link goes out

Each person gets their own portal at a private link. No account, no password, and it works on a phone. The Inland Revenue forms are linked from the requests that ask for them.

  3. Step 3

    WorkZerk chases, you approve

Reminders go to anyone who has not finished. You get told if an invite was never opened, and when everyone in the intake is done.

What the New Zealand staff pack asks for

  • Tax code declaration (IR330)
  • IRD number
  • KiwiSaver deduction form (KS2), for existing members
  • Bank account name and number for pay
  • Proof of the right to work
  • Work visa, with the date it ends
  • Emergency contact
  • Police vetting consent form, for roles that need a Police vet
  • Your own employment agreement, policies and induction

IRD numbers kept private

The IR330, IRD number, KS2 and bank account number arrive marked sensitive: stored encrypted, hidden from your team, shown in full only to admins, with every view logged.

The Inland Revenue forms, one tap away

The IR330 and KiwiSaver requests link to Inland Revenue's own pages. The new employee opens the form from their portal, fills it in and uploads it.

Visas that end, watched

A work visa is saved with the date it ends. WorkZerk reminds the person and your team before then, long after onboarding is finished.

Employment agreements signed in the portal

Upload your agreement as a PDF and have each new employee sign it. Policies are versioned, and an acceptance records the exact version, the time, and a typed name or drawn signature.

Police vets started from the portal

For roles that need one, the new employee signs the NZ Police request and consent form and uploads it, ready for you to submit as an approved agency.

One record per person

Everything a new employee sends lands on their contact record, not in an email thread. Export what payroll needs to CSV.

$9.95 a month, every feature included.

25 people can be onboarding at once, with no limit on how many you put through in a year. Colleagues who work in the account with you are $4 a month each.

Questions

Does WorkZerk work for New Zealand businesses?

Yes. WorkZerk has ready-made staff and contractor packs for New Zealand, written around Inland Revenue's forms and New Zealand bank account numbers. It is built and supported in Brisbane by WorkZerk PTY Ltd. Support is open 9am to 5pm, 7 days, Brisbane time.

Is it safe to collect IRD numbers in WorkZerk?

Requests marked sensitive are stored with field-level encryption, masked for your team, visible in full only to admins, and every view is logged. You can also have WorkZerk delete a document after you approve it, or delete sensitive information a set time after a portal closes.

Does WorkZerk file with Inland Revenue or enrol people in KiwiSaver?

No. WorkZerk collects the forms and details from the new employee and keeps them on their record. Filing employment information, KiwiSaver deductions and payroll stay in your payroll system.

Does WorkZerk check a visa with VisaView or run a Police vet?

No. WorkZerk does not connect to Immigration New Zealand or NZ Police. Your team runs the check, then records the result and the visa's end date in WorkZerk, which tracks it from there.

Is it an HR or payroll system?

No. WorkZerk collects and keeps the onboarding paperwork. It does not run payroll, rosters, timesheets or leave, and it does not connect to payroll software. You export what you collected to CSV.

Does a new employee need to create an account?

No. Each person gets a private link to their own portal. They open it on a phone or computer, fill in what you asked for, and can come back later to finish.

How much does it cost?

One plan at $9.95 a month (US dollars) with every feature. 25 people can be onboarding at once. Try it free for 30 days, no credit card.

Why does WorkZerk cost so much less?

It does one job (paperwork, expiry dates and chasing), not HR, payroll or training. There's no sales team: we'll happily show you on a live call, but nobody follows up, there's no quote and no contract to negotiate. It's one published price: $9.95 a month with 25 active people included. Above 25 at once, each extra person is 5 cents a day while they hold a live link, so 100 people with live check-in links all month comes to about $122 in total. You pay for the account, never the people you onboard.
