WorkZerk vs Cm3.
An honest comparison for anyone weighing WorkZerk against Cm3. We make WorkZerk, so read it knowing that. Everything said about Cm3 comes from its own website, terms and help centre, checked in October 2026, and the sources are listed at the foot of the page.
The short version
Cm3 is a contractor prequalification and compliance system for Australia and New Zealand, trading since 2008 and part of Blackwoods in the Wesfarmers group. It describes itself as a hybrid of software and service: a contractor business completes one assessment a year, Cm3's in-house health and safety assessors review it, and every client connected to that contractor sees the result. It adds site check-in, online inductions, permits to work and a marketplace of registered contractors.
WorkZerk is onboarding software you run yourself, made in Brisbane. Each person gets one private link where they fill in your forms, upload their documents and sign. You approve what comes in, and WorkZerk sends the reminders and tracks every expiry date. Nobody at WorkZerk reviews a document for you, and there is no shared network: what you collect is yours alone. It covers staff as well as contractors, and the people you onboard pay nothing.

Cm3 pricing and WorkZerk pricing
Cm3
Cm3 does not publish pricing. Its FAQ says the contractor pays one annual fee that covers every client, on tiers set by the contractor's Business Risk Profile. Its terms say a contractor can ask Cm3 for the tier pricing.
We could not find what a client organisation pays, or a free trial. Clients are offered a demo, and contractors can register themselves.
WorkZerk
One plan at $9.95 a month, in US dollars, with every feature. 25 people can be onboarding at once, and each extra user is $4 a month. The people you onboard pay nothing.
The trial is 30 days with no credit card, and there is no setup fee.
Prices are as each company published them in October 2026. Check both before you decide.
Where Cm3 is stronger
- Somebody else checks the documents
- Cm3's in-house assessors, who it describes as health and safety professionals, review each contractor's safety systems and insurance and send feedback. In WorkZerk you read and approve every document yourself.
- A shared contractor network
- A contractor is assessed once a year and every client on Cm3 can rely on that result. Clients can search more than 30,000 registered contractor businesses. WorkZerk has no network: each account collects its own documents.
- Risk-based prequalification
- How deep the assessment goes follows the contractor's risk profile, with separate modules for insurance verification, modern slavery and chain of responsibility. WorkZerk asks whatever you put in the pack and has no risk model.
- Permits, inductions and visitors
- Permit to work, online inductions with assessments, and visitor sign-in in kiosk mode, with check-in tied to prequalification status. WorkZerk has a check-in button and a roster, and no permits or assessments.
- Integrations
- An API, daily data extracts and named integrations including Yardi, Simpro and Sine. WorkZerk offer no integrations.
Where WorkZerk is stronger
- Your contractors pay nothing
- In WorkZerk only you pay by subscription. Cm3's contractor FAQ says the contractor pays an annual fee for assessment. Note: Contractors pay no fee for access to its Cm3 OnSite product.
- People, not only companies
- Cm3 assesses contractor businesses. WorkZerk keeps a record for each person: the individual's licence, white card and induction, as well as the business's insurance.
- Staff as well
- WorkZerk is flexible: the same WorkZerk account onboards new employees or staff, with an Australian pack for the TFN declaration, super choice and bank details. We did not find employee paperwork on Cm3's site.
- You decide what to ask
- A WorkZerk pack asks exactly what you put in it, and nothing your work does not need. A prequalification assessment is the same standard for every client.
- A price you can read, and no sales call
- $9.95 a month, published. Sign up and use every feature for 30 days without a card.
How to choose
Consider Cm3 if a client, a council or your own board requires contractors to be independently prequalified, or you engage enough contractor businesses that you want somebody else to review their safety systems and insurance. WorkZerk does not do that.
Consider WorkZerk if you are happy to check the documents yourself and want them collected, chased and tracked for a small monthly price, without asking your contractors to pay or to join a network.
The quickest test is to put one real contractor or new starter through WorkZerk. The trial has every feature switched on, so you will know within a week whether it fits.
Questions about WorkZerk and Cm3
Only for part of what Cm3 does. WorkZerk collects contractor documents, tracks their expiry dates, chases renewals and reports who is compliant. It is not a prequalification service: nobody at WorkZerk assesses a contractor's safety systems or verifies their insurance, and there is no contractor marketplace.
Cm3's contractor FAQ says the contractor pays an annual fee, on tiers based on their Business Risk Profile, and that the one fee covers every client. Cm3 does not publish the amount, or what a client pays. WorkZerk is one plan at $9.95 a month (US dollars) with every feature, 25 people onboarding at once, $4 a month for each extra user, a 30-day free trial with no credit card, and no setup fee. The people you onboard pay nothing.
No. WorkZerk keeps the certificate, its expiry date and the record of who approved it. Its AI check reads the expiry date on the document and flags it when it differs from the date that was typed in. It does not check a policy with an insurer.
