What WorkZerk is

getting-started

Someone has sent you a WorkZerk link. This is the short version of what you have been handed, what it will ask you for, and what happens to what you send.

WorkZerk is onboarding software. A company uses it to collect the documents, answers and signatures they need from the people they work with, and to keep a record of what each person gave them. Your link is your own page inside that. You are not signing up to WorkZerk, and WorkZerk is not the company asking: we are the software they run it on.

There is no account to create

The link is the access. There is no password, no sign-up form, and nothing to install. Open it in whatever browser you already have, on a phone, a tablet or a laptop.

That also means the link is personal. It is tied to your record with the company that sent it, so anything you upload or answer is filed against you. Do not forward it to a colleague: they would be filling in your section, under your name. If they need to submit something too, they need their own link.

What you will be asked for

It varies by company, and by what they are onboarding you for. The page lists your asks one after another, and you can do them in any order and over as many sittings as you like. What you have saved stays saved between visits, so there is no reason to do the lot in one go.

Typically you will see some mix of:

  • Documents to upload. An insurance certificate, a license, photo ID, a bank details form, a signed policy. Some come with an expiry date to fill in, which is how the company knows to ask you again before it lapses.
  • Questions to answer. A short text answer, a longer note, or a list of options to pick from.
  • Terms to read and accept. The full text is on the page, and you accept it there. Depending on how it was set up you may also be asked to type your name, draw a signature, or both.
  • Things to go and do. A checklist rather than something to send back: complete an induction, watch a safety video, walk a site. You tick items off as you finish them.
  • Details to confirm. Your phone number, an emergency contact, a license number. These are often saved onto your record with the company so you are not asked again next time.

Each ask is marked Required or Optional. A progress bar under the list counts the required ones. When they are all in, a Submit bar appears at the bottom of the screen: press it. Until you do, the company still sees you as not finished.

What happens to what you send

It goes to the company that invited you, and to them only. Someone there reviews each document and either approves it or rejects it with a reason, and a rejected document reopens as an ask so you can send the right one. Your own page shows which files are approved and which were rejected.

You cannot see other people's submissions, and they cannot see yours.

What the wording will look like

The company sets its own vocabulary, so the page might call you a person, staff, a contractor, a volunteer, a team member, or whatever word fits their operation. It is the same product underneath. The logo and colors at the top of your page are theirs too, not ours.

If something is wrong

Ask the company that sent you the link. They control what is on the page, they can reissue your link if it stops working, and they are the only ones who can see or change what you have submitted. WorkZerk support cannot open your page or act on your behalf.

For the details, start with opening your link.
